Anaheim Ducks prospect Brandon Montour has officially been added to the University of Massachusetts roster and will be eligible to play in Tuesday's nonconference home game against Northeastern University. Montour, the 2013-14 USHL Player of the Year, spent the first half of this season with the Waterloo Black Hawks after a snafu with the NCAA Clearinghouse prevented him from being eligible to compete in the first semester.
Montour, a '94 from Tilbury, Ontario, was drafted 55th overall in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft following his breakthrough campaign with P.K. O'Handley's Waterloo squad that fell in the USHL Clark Cup Finals. Montour is known more for his offensive ability from the blue line. He averaged over a point per game in his USHL career. He has tremendous vision, is a good skater and distributes the puck nicely especially on the power play.
