New University of Maine head hockey coach Red Gendron has completed his coaching staff with the addition of volunteer goaltending coach John Racine, according to the Bangor Daily News' Larry Mahoney.
Racine was a goaltending coach for the Lewiston Maineiacs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), and also has a goaltending camp. He has also worked with various high school and club teams throughout New England.
According to Mahoney, Racine came recommended to Gendron by the former Lewiston coach JF Houle. Racine's full-time job is as an Assistant Store Director for Shaw's Supermarkets.
Gendron had previously named former Maine star and NHL veteran Ben Guite and former Maine and NHL assistant coach Jay Leach as his two full-time assistants.
