BOSTON -- Hello college hockey fans and greetings from the Matthews Arena in Boston where the Northeastern Huskies (9-17-3, 5-14-3 Hockey East) look to salvage the third and final game of their season series with the Providence College Friars (12-10-7, 10-6-6) on Saturday night.
PC enters the contest on a six-game unbeaten streak (2-0-4) and captured the weekend opener on Friday night at Schneider Arena by a 6-2 score - their second victory in as many contests by the same score against the Huskies this year. In the game, senior Tim Schaller posted a goal and five assists, while sophomore Stefan Demopoulous scored twice and added three helpers.
For the Huskies, sophomore Josh Manson scored his second goal in as many games but it was not nearly enough on the road. Tonight, stellar freshman Kevin Roy is missing from the NU line-up for "precautionary" reasons, despite not missing a shift on Friday.
