The visiting UMass Lowell River Hawks cruised from start to finish in the second period as they scored two early goals to enter the intermission with a 2-0 lead over the No. 13/15 Boston University Terriers at Agganis Arena.

BOSTON -- The visiting UMass Lowell River Hawks cruised from start to finish in the second period as they scored two early goals to enter the intermission with a 2-0 lead over the No. 13/15 Boston University Terriers at Agganis Arena. In the stanza, UML also dominated the shots on goal count for the majority with an 12-8 edge.

The River Hawks jumped ahead 1-0 at the 5:35 mark as sophomore Scott Wilson pulled up in the right circle and ripped a slapper off the post and in, beating BU rookie Matt O'Connor off a pass from junior defenseman Chad Ruhwedel for his ninth goal of the season.

UML was quick to double that mark as junior Joseph Pendenza finished off an odd-man break by firing a puck from the sideboard off the skate of BU senior Sean Escobedo in front and into the net. The goal was the 11th of the season for the Wilmington, Mass. native, as well as his fifth goal and 14th point in the last 12 games.
