After scoring an early power play goal, the Northeastern Huskies surrendered one of their own at the midway point of the first period as the Vermont Catamounts entered the locker room in a 1-1 tie after 20 minutes at Matthews Arena.

BOSTON -- After scoring an early power play goal, the Northeastern Huskies surrendered one of their own at the midway point of the first period as the Vermont Catamounts entered the locker room in a 1-1 tie after 20 minutes at Matthews Arena.

UVM registered the first five shots on goal in the stanza and held an 11-8 advantage at intermission.

The Huskies jumped ahead at the 6:56 mark of the period as sophomore Adam Reid made a great play to follow his initial shot on the power play to beat UVM rookie Brody Hoffman. On a sequence set up by junior Cody Ferriero, Reid got the puck on Hoffman's left post and lifted a second-effort shot over the Saskatchewan native's shoulder for his fourth tally of the season.

After Ferriero was sent to the box for tripping, the Catamounts cashed in just 26 seconds into the man-advantage as sophomore Jacob Fallon pounced on a juicy rebound in the face-off circle for his eighth goal of the season at 10:54.
