North Andover, Mass. -- Merrimack College head coach Mark Dennehy has removed senior Shawn Bates from the hockey team. The speedy forward had played in ten games this season without registering a point. Bates seemed to often be in the doghouse over his career, sitting in the stands more times than he should have with the talent he had. Bates finishes his Merrimack career with 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points in 103 games played.
