Providence, RI -- Friars Freshman forward Niko Rufo will miss the rest of the college hockey season due to a lower body injury that occurred in Friday's 1-0 win at Merrimack. The Stoneham, Mass. native played prep school hockey at Kimball Union Academy for current Brown assistant Mike Levine last season.

Rufo had two goals and one assist in the first eight games of the season for Providence. He appeared to be off to a promising start, including scoring the game-winning goal in overtime against Miami.

Nate Leaman's Friars are 7-1-1 on the season with a pair of games looming at Vermont this weekend.
