After a section playoffs that saw several upsets, the 2014 Minnesota state high school tournament has almost gone entirely for the favorites. Almost.
7 of the 8 teams seeded 1-4, including the top 4 in Class A, won in the quarterfinals. It's a far cry from a couple years ago when all four were upset in AA. Only Class AA fifth seed Eagan went against the grain, shutting out Duluth East 3-0 Thursday night. The Wildcats' reward is a date Friday night with top-seed Edina.
The rest of Friday's match-ups with the winners advancing to Saturday's State Tournament championship games.
