High School hockey coach investigated for drinking with players

Winthrop, Mass. -- According to several reports, the head hockey coach at Winthrop High School is being investigated for drinking with his players after the team's final game of the season.

Dale Dunbar, who doubles as the Rink Manager at the Mike Eruzione Center in Winthrop, was allegedly seen by a Winthrop Police Officer drinking with members of his team when the law enforcement officer became spooked that something was amiss inside the rink.

Winthrop is the hometown of Mike Eruzione, the captain of the United States' Gold Medal-winning 1980 Olympic team. The Vikings, a member of the Northeast Conference, were eliminated by Lincoln-Sudbury, 2-1, in the MIAA Division 2 North Quarterfinals last Friday night at O'Brien Rink in Woburn.
