High School Prospect Alec Rauhauser Scores Amazing Goal

Bismarck Century's Alec Rauhauser scores on a backhand lacrosse-style goal.

Bismarck(North Dakota) Century High School' Alec Rauhauser made a name for himself as a big, sturdy defenseman in this fall's Upper Midwest Elite League, playing the blue line for team Great Plains, subsequently drawing the attention of NHL Central Scouting, where he was ranked 196th among North American skaters in their Mid-Term rankings.

But this winter, Rauhauser has been filling in at forward for Century high school and showing off some of his offensive skills as well. He has been one of the state's leading scorers with 19 goals and 26 assists on the season. But the prettiest of those goals came Tuesday night in a game against crosstown rival Bismarck High, where Rauhauser scored this backhand lacrosse-style to help lead his team to a 5-4 overtime win.
