Days after Clarkson announced the premature cancellation of their season, allegedly due to a team party that broke Covid-19 protocol, junior forward Josh Dunne has signed a free agent contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Despite modest scoring numbers this season—2-3-5 in 14 games with the Golden Knights—Dunne remained one of the better undrafted free agent prospects available in the NCAA this season due to the way he projects as a big, two-way centerman.

Listed at 6’4” 209 lbs., Dunne played center for Clarkson, and many scouts project he’ll be able to play up the middle at the pro level as well in a third or fourth line depth role.

Dunne signed a two-year deal with the Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets immediately assigned Dunne to their AHL affiliate in Cleveland where he will begin his pro career.
