The New Jersey Devils have announced that they have signed Brown senior forward Nick Lappin to an entry-level contract. Lappin signed a two-year entry level contract that will begin next season, with Lappin reporting to the Devils AHL affiliate in Albany for the rest of the season on an amateur tryout offer.

Lappin is a tough two-way forward from the Chicago suburbs that possesses a nice scoring touch. He recently completed a strong four-year career at Brown where he was his team's alternate captain in his final two seasons. He hit double digits in goals score in each of his final three seasons, with his best season being the most recent. He tallied a scoring line of 17-16-33 in 31 games, ranking seventh among ECAC scorers this past season.

We have Lappin ranked 92nd overall on our upcoming Top 100 NHL prospects list, and the 12th-best available free agent in college hockey.
