For all the accomplishments in his Harvard career--including 11 two-goal games--senior forward and Hobey Baker candidate Jimmy Vesey had never scored a hat trick.
He changed that on Friday night when Vesey score three consecutive goals in the early period to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 Harvard lead that they would eventually carry to a 3-2 victory over St. Lawrence.
Harvard Athletics has video of all three of Vesey's goals last night. The first one in particular was a real beauty as he cut through the St. Lawrence defense and unleashed a wicked backhand top shelf for the goal.
Vesey's NHL rights are held by the Nashville Predators, though he could potentially become a free agent this summer if he doesn't sign with the Predators by August 15th. It's easy to see why signing Vesey will be such a major priority for the Predators, or any other NHL team should he become available.
