Mike Borkowski's goal 9:34 into the first overtime helped propel Colgate past St. Lawrence, 4-3, in the second ECAC Hockey semifinal Friday night at 1980 Rink in Lake Placid, NY.

The game between the two teams was about as even as it could be. St. Lawrence had the slight in advantage in shots on goal at 32-31.

Saints sophomore defenseman Gavin Bayreuther sent the game to overtime with his game-tying goal with just 1:22 to play in regulation. Colgate's Joe Wilson had given the Raiders a 3-2 lead earlier in the period.

Darcy Murphy had staked Colgate to a 1-0 advantage after 20 minutes on a first period strike. SLU freshman Mike Marnell evened the score, 1-1, just over a minute into the second. Murphy scored his second of the night to put Colgate back on top before Eric Sweetman tallied a goal to send the game to the third period knotted at two.

Colgate goaltender Charlie Finn made 29 saves for his 21st victory of the season. ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year Kyle Hayton stopped 27 of 31 in the losing effort for Greg Carvel's Saints.

Don Vaughan's Raiders earn a trip to Saturday's ECAC Hockey championship game against Harvard.
