BOSTON -- The first Beanpot semifinal between Harvard and Boston University isn't over yet and Crimson goaltender Steve Michalek has already set a tournament record for most saves in a game. Through one overtime period Michalek has recorded 58 saves.
The Minnesota Wild prospect broke the previous Beanpot record set of 52 saves in 1970 by Boston College goaltender Jim Barton.
Harvard and Boston University are tied, 3-3, heading to the second overtime period of the first Beanpot semifinal. Boston College and Northeastern will take to the ice approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
