Clarkson University sophomore forward Janick Asselin has been banned one game by ECAC Hockey for his illegal hit to the head on Merrimack sophomore Brett Seney in Friday night's nonconference game at Lawler Arena.
Asselin was assessed a five-minute major for contact-to-the-head and a game misconduct at the 9:08 mark of the third period with his team trailing 7-1. The Golden Knights went on to lose by that score, the team's first setback of the young season.
Asselin, a Coaticook, Quebec native, will miss Clarkson's game against the University of New Hampshire Saturday night.
