Colgate University announced on Monday that assistant coach Jason Lefevre has left the university to take a job in the private sector.
Lefevre is an alum of Colgate, playing goalie for the Raiders from 1998-2002. He returned to his alma mater in 2006-2007 as a volunteer assistant for two years, before being named assistant coach in 2008.
In the school's press release, Colgate head coach Don Vaughan said:
"Jason has had a very positive impact on Colgate Hockey. His contributions to the program are on many levels and will be felt for years to come. His decision to leave the college hockey profession was a difficult one for him and he certainly will be missed. We wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward with his new career."
Colgate has an 11-6-1 overall record this season and is tied for seventh place in the ECAC. Colgate will conduct a search for Lefevre's replacement after the season.
