The Harvard Crimson reported late Thursday evening that Harvard senior defenseman Patrick McNally will miss the rest of the regular season with a leg injury. McNally suffered the injury in Harvard's January 23rd game against Cornell.
McNally, a draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks, has been the top-scoring defenseman for the fourth-ranked Crimson this season with a 4-12-16 scoring line in 15 games played, making one of only three defensemen in the country to average more than a point-per-game this season.
McNally told the student paper that he hopes to return to the line-up in time for the ECAC playoffs. The Crimson will miss the impact McNally makes from the blue line as they begin their quest for the school's first Beanpot title since 1993 next Monday when they play Boston University in the tournament semifinals, and as they try to catch Quinnipiac at the top of the ECAC standings for the league title.
