Colgate head coach Don Vaughn didn't have to look far to replace Brad Dexter, who left his post with the Red Raiders to take a similar position at Princeton. On Friday, the school announced the promotion of alum Mike Harder from volunteer assistant to full-time assistant.
Harder, a 1997 graduate of the Hamilton, NY college, was a prolific scorer in the ECAC. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native racked up 87 goals and 124 assists for 211 points in 132 NCAA games. He went on to play professional hockey in North America and Europe, including stints in the AHL.
Colgate, the clear-cut favorite in the ECAC, will open up the 2014-15 campaign with a weekend series at St. Cloud State on October 10-11.
