ECAC Playoffs: Cornell's overtime victory completes Lake Placid field

The top four seeds all advanced to the ECAC Semifinals.

Ithaca, NY -- Brian Ferlin's goal 12:32 into the first overtime period ended a scoreless tie and sent the Big Red of Cornell off to the ECAC semifinals on Friday at 1980 rink at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid.

Mike Schafer's Big Red took the ECAC Quarterfinal series from Clarkson in three games. Senior goaltender Andy Iles stopped all 23 shots he faced for the victory.

Up next for the Big Red is a date with No. 1 Union College at 4 p.m. on Friday. Quinnipiac and Colgate face off in the other semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Both semifinal games and the championship game on Saturday will be broadcast on Fox College Sports Atlantic.
