Troy, NY - ECAC conference play begins tonight at the Houston Field House with RPI hosting Harvard. Last season each team won on home ice. The Engineers won 3-0 on February 1 and the Crimson were victorious earlier in the season at Bright Arena by a score of 4-0.
Harvard is 1-0-0 on the season, winning its season opener, 3-0, against Bentley this past Saturday night. RPI is 4-1-0, topping Sacred Heart twice and a win each over Boston University and New Hampshire. RPI's only loss was a 7-2 setback at Boston College.
Harvard is dressing seven freshmen, including the top three center ice men. Junior Steve Michalek is getting his first start of the season for Ted Donato's squad. Scott Diebold will start in net for RPI in place of the injured Jason Kasdorf.
