The Total Pro Evaluation Spring Showcase is set for this upcoming weekend, March 31 through April 2, at Merrimack College’s two rinks.
Total Pro Evaluation is run by Boston Bruins Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting Scott Fitzgerald. The Spring Showcase brings together many of the top 2003, 2004 and 2005 birthdates in the country.
In addition to practices, skill sessions and games, players will be treated to an excellent panel of speakers on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Speakers at the event include Merrimack head coach Mark Dennehy, Michigan associate head coach Billy Powers, Harvard associate head coach Paul Pearl, Boston College associate head coach Greg Brown, Dartmouth assistant John Rose, and a representative from Boston University’s coaching staff.
U.S. NTDP Director of Player Personnel Jeremiah Crowe, Islanders HC head coach Sean Tremblay, Selects Academy coach Dave Peters and Belmont Hill coach Jeremiah McCarthy will be on hand to discuss the different paths to playing college hockey.
Also speaking will be Bob Eichel, Jack Eichel’s dad, and Kevin Hayes, the father of Kevin and Jimmy Hayes, to discuss the different paths their sons took to the NHL.
While the ‘04s and ‘05s are still quite a ways away from thinking about the college process, the ‘03s will start committing soon.
