New UMass coach Greg Carvel has added two more chips for 2016-17 recruiting class. The Minutemen have received commitments from Jack Suter and Jake McLaughlin.

Suter is a '95 right-shot forward who had originally committed to play college hockey at Air Force. He played the past two seasons with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the United States Hockey League (USHL). The Omaha, Neb. native tallied 14 goals and added 26 assists this season. He played midget hockey for the Colorado Rampage.

McLaughlin, a 1996-born defenseman, hails from Hinsdale, Ill. A product of Team Illinois, he played the past two seasons in the USHL with the Fargo Force and Sioux City Musketeers. In 59 games played this season with the Force, he was +13 and had four goals and seven assists. A left shot, he's known as a shutdown defender with solid skating ability.
