Omaha, Neb. -- 2016 NHL Draft prospect and Dubuque Fighting Saints forward Michael O'Leary is no longer verbally committed to play college hockey for Mike Schaffer at Cornell University.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia native who played prep hockey at Salisbury had a goal and three assists in Tuesday night's USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. He was +5 for Team East, winners of the game over Team West by a score of 6-2.
O'Leary's QMJHL rights were recently traded to his hometown Halifax Mooseheads, but he's still reportedly interested in the NCAA route. A good student, he will have plenty of offers from other college programs.
