Phillips Exeter left defenseman Trevor Cosgrove verbally committed to play college hockey at Colgate University on Sunday. The '97 senior was a key cog on Dana Barbin's blue line last winter as the Big Red raced out to the number one seed in the NEPSIHA Elite 8 Tournament.
Extremely excited to announce my commitment to Colgate University #GoRaiders

Cosgrove has a decent first pivot with good mobility. He's steady defensively and has a good, active stick. He is good on gap control and makes a lot of good poke checks to knock the puck away from opposing forwards barreling down on him. He was very solid for Dan Ronan's NEFPHL Selects at the Tier 1 Labor Day Face-Off.
Cosgrove could report to Hamilton, NY to begin playing for Don Vaughan's Raiders as early as next fall, but he would probably be better served playing a year of junior hockey first. Providence was another school that offered him, but neither school offered any financial package on the hockey side. A very good student, he will get a nice academic package at Colgate.
