NTDP's Cassetti Commits to BC

Matt Dewkett

Joseph Cassetti had his chance to shine in front of Boston College assistant coaches Greg Brown and Mike Ayers over the weekend at the USHL Pittsburgh Showcase.

The big '99 left wing from Pleasanton, Calif. made a big impression on the Eagles staff. So much so that he was able to accept the scholarship offer from Jerry York's program and announce his commitment via Twitter on Tuesday night.

Cassetti had Team USA's final goal of the game in a 6-4 loss to the Youngstown Phantoms on Friday night. He's a wing with a powerful stride who has a presence on the ice. With his size and strength at an early age, he projects as a legitimate pro prospect down the line.

Cassetti played bantam hockey for the San Jose Jr. Sharks before playing U16 midget hockey for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies last season. He will likely head to Chestnut Hill for the 2017-18 season.
