Brady Tkachuk Commits to Boston University

Matt Dewkett

Though his older brother opted to play in the OHL last week, Brady Tkachuk, has opted to follow in his father Keith's footsteps by announcing a commitment to Boston University:

Brady Tkachuk is a '99-born forward that played last season with the St. Louis Jr. Blues U16 team, and has signed on to play for the US National Team Development Program for the next two seasons.

We watched Tkachuk this past February at the Tier I AAA Playoffs and gave this quick scouting report:

Brady Tkachuk-F-St. Louis U16-Anyone expecting the second-coming of his older brother will likely be disappointed. He's maybe a slightly better skater, but doesn't show the same exceptional hockey sense Matt did at this tournament two years ago. Still towards the upper end of his age group, with soft hands and a nice scoring touch.

Tkachuk is the third '99-born player to commit to Boston University, joining future NTDP teammate David Farrance and fellow forward Logan Cockerill. The London Knights, who recently signed his brother, hold Tkachuk's OHL rights after selecting him in the fourth round of this April's OHL Draft.
