After using the first of their two tenders last week to sign forward Baron Thompson, Dubuque has used their second tender to sign Chicago Mission U16 defenseman Joey Keane.
Keane committed to Miami this October, after a strong showing at this fall's NAHL Showcase. Here's how we described him:
Joey Keane-D-Chicago Mission-Reminds me a lot of teammate Ryan Carlson last year. Not a flashy, high-end talent, but plays a very solid, quiet game, and should develop into a reliable player down the road.
Signing a tender guarantees Keane a spot on Dubuque's roster for next season and that he will dress in at least 55% of his team's games. Dubuque forfeits their second round pick in this year's Phase I Futures Draft in return for signing Keane. Dubuque has now used both of their tenders for next season.
