Colorado Thunderbirds U16 '98-born goalie Dayton Rasmussen announced via Twitter that he has committed to Denver:
Proud to announce my commitment to play college hockey at the University of Denver. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way!
— Dayton Rasmussen (@Dras31) April 28, 2015
Rasmussen originally hails from Minnesota, but left Holy Family Catholic High School this past season to play for a loaded Thunderbirds team that made the semifinals of the USA Hockey National Tournament.
He's a big goalie that is sound positionally and moves well for his size. He had excellent numbers-1.47 GAA, .917 save percentage--in the Tier I Elite League this past season.
Rasmussen is a late-'98-birthdate that is currently in the 10th grade, meaning the earliest he would join the Pioneers is 2017. The Waterloo Blackhawks hold his USHL rights.
