University of Minnesota recruit Brannon McManus has signed a tender with the Omaha Lancers, the organization announced Thursday morning. The Newport Beach, Calif. native is a highly regarded prospect who spent the 2014-15 season with the Shattuck St. Mary's U16 team.
Signing a tender takes McManus off the board for the upcoming USHL Phase I (Futures) Draft. The Lancers pick up one of the elite offensive talents in the '99 birth year.
After taking in last July's USA Hockey Select 15 Festival in Amherst, NY, this observer ranked McManus as the fifth best forward prospect at the event.
5. Brannon McManus (#8 Red) 5-10/165 Shattuck St. Mary's (Minnesota) - He's a creative offensive player who seems to be in the right spots at the right time for the puck to find him. He's got the gift of being patient and definitely makes nice looks to his teammates. He's another player who is confident with the puck.
