Cedar Rapids(USHL) announced that they have signed Victory Honda '99-born forward Liam Walsh to a tender for next season.
Walsh is originally from Pennsylvania, but played last season with the Victory Honda AAA program in metro Detroit, where he was third in team scoring during Tier 1 Elite League play.
We described Walsh as a hard-working, two-way forward after seeing him at the Tier 1 Elite League playoffs this past March:
Liam Walsh-F-Victory Honda U16-Love the way he competes. Showed a few flashes of offensive ability, but going forward, he's most likely your prototypical third-liner that's going to play a very heavy game.
Walsh is the first player to tender with Cedar Rapids for next season. Signing the tender guarantees Walsh a spot on the ROughriders roster and that he will dress in at least 55% of his team's games. Cedar Rapids forfeits their first round pick in the USHL Phase I Futures draft by signing Walsh early.
