Junior Bruins forward Ryan Cloonan committed to Boston University on Thursday afternoon. The Maine de-commit had 20 goals and 45 assists in 50 regular season games this season for Pete Masters.

During the coaching change at Maine, Cloonan de-committed from the Black Bears and reopened his recruitment. Boston College showed interest in Cloonan early this season, but he held out for a better scholarship offer. UVM and Colorado College were other schools that offered Cloonan a similar package to the Terriers.

Cloonan is a small forward, but he's shifty and has good hands. A gritty player who's not afraid to go into the dirty areas, he's got real good speed as well. The '95 will matriculate to BU for the 2016-17 season after another year of junior hockey unless the Terriers have more early departures than expected.
