Michigan picked up a commitment from their first player born in the year 2000 on Saturday, when Compuware U15 forward Blade Jenkins announced that he has verbally committed to the Wolverines.
Proud to announce my commitment to the University of Michigan. Thanks to all my friends and family that have helped me along the way.#GOBLUE— Blade Jenkins (@blade_jenkins20) January 10, 2015
SB Nation's Michigan affiliate Maize 'n Brew has more on the commitment.
Jenkins' father Todd played four seasons at Maine in the late '80s. It's tough to tell much about a prospect so young, but Jenkins is considered one of the better prospects in his age group, and is excelling while playing up an age group with the Compuware U15s rather than playing bantam hockey this year.
