The opening weekend couldn't have gone better for several Hockey East recruits, including three who were making their USHL regular season debuts. Northeastern commit Adam Gaudette, UMass Lowell recruit Tyler Sifferlen and New Hampshire recruit Ara Nazarian scored in their first regular season game action in the USHL.
Gaudette, a product of Thayer Academy, lit the lamp twice in his first regular season game for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The Braintree, Mass. native who played prep hockey for Tony Amonte continued his hot summer and early fall with two first period goals on the team's 6-2 win over Dubuque. Gaudette, a late '96, will be eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft. He's a smooth skater who does a good job finding separation and has a lightning quick release. He had impressive showings at the Beantown Classic and the USHL Atlantic Challenge.
Sifferlen and Nazarian, former teammates at Masschusetts high school hockey powerhouse Malden Catholic, each found the back of the net once as well. Sifferlen, the 2014 winner of ESPN Boston's Mr. Hockey Award, scored early in the second period in the Chicago Steel's 8-2 win over the Green Bay Gamblers. The four-time state champion in high school took to twitter to show off his memento to commemorate the occasion following the game.

Nazarian, a high scoring forward who plays with an edge, scored his first USHL goal in Des Moines' 4-0 win over the Fargo Force. UMass Lowell commit Ryan Dmowski also found the back of the net for the Buccaneers. Maine recruit Joe Widmar picked up an assist in the game.
Recent UMass Lowell commit Niklas Folin had two assists on Friday in Omaha's 4-3 loss to the Sioux City Musketeers. Providence recruit Jake Henderson had a goal in the game for the Lancers. Boston University commit Bobo Carpenter had three assists for the Musketeers in the OT win.
Several Hockey East commits had multi-point weekends for the USNTDP U-18 Team in USHL action, including Notre Dame recruits Christian Fischer (two goals) and Matthew Tkachuk (one goal, one assist), BU recruit Jordan Greenway (2 assists) and BC recruit Jeremy Bracco (one goal and one assist).
