UMass Lowell will have another Folin patrolling the blue line. Niklas Folin, the brother of Minnesota Wild defenseman and former Riverhawk Christian Folin, has committed to play college hockey for UMass Lowell.
The '94 from Gothenburg, Sweden doesn't have quite the size of his older brother, but has good mobility and an ability to distribute the puck from the back end. The six-foot-one pivot is in his third season with the Omaha Lancers in the USHL. Folin had three goals and 13 assists last season for Omaha. He came to the United States after a success stint with several different teams in the Frolunda organization.
Christian Folin starred with the Riverhawks from 2011-2014 before signing a NHL contract with the Minnesota Wild, forgoing his final year of eligibility.
