Avon Old Farms first-year forward Patrick Harper called David Quinn today to inform the Boston University head coach of the player's intention to play college hockey for the Terriers. A '98, Harper comes to the Connecticut prep school from New Canaan, Conn. He previously played midget hockey for the Connecticut Oilers and the NJ Rockets.
Harper is an undersized forward who had three goals and two assists at July's USA Hockey Select 16 Camp. He's elusive and can really stickhandle. He'll need to add some bulk to be a high-end player at the collegiate level, but he has terrific skills with the puck that will make him a threat to score every time he climbs over the boards.
