Tuomie is a native of Hassfurt, Germany, though is no stranger to the state of Minnesota. His father, Tray Tuomie, was a Minnesota-native that played high school hockey at Hill-Murray before playing college hockey at St. Cloud State and Wisconsin. The elder Tuomie played professional hockey in Germany after his college career, settling there, and becoming a coach after his hockey career ended. He is currently head coach of the Nurnberg Ice Tigers in Germany's top professional league.
Parker Tuomie played with the Jungadler Mannheim program in Germany before moving to the United States last year to begin his junior career in Wenatchee. Tuomie finished second on the Wild in scoring with 24 goals and 25 assists in 49 games last season. He also represented Germany at the World Juniors last year.
Tuomie will most likely play for the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. Last week, the Mavericks also picked up another commitment from another NAHL standout moving on to the USHL next season in Mike Bigelbach.
