UMass head coach John Micheletto has received a commitment from one of the elite forwards in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Kurt Keats of the Powell River Kings has committed to the Hockey East program for the 2014-15 season.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native had 19 goals and 36 assists in 51 games played this season for Kent Lewis' club. A two-time member of the World Junior A Challenge, Keats is undersized, but has terrific hands and speed.
BCHL scout Jeff McCarthy had Keats as his top uncommitted player in the BCHL.
Kurt Keats commits to the University Of Masschusetts, my top uncommitted player in the BCHL.
