2000-born Jacob Pivonka Commits to Notre Dame

Matt Dewkett

Chicago Missiion's Bantam AAA program announced today that 2000-born forward Jacob Pivonka has committed to Notre Dame. Pivonka is the son of former NHLer Michal Pivonka.

Details are scarce on a player so young, but Pivonka was the second-leading scorer in the HPHL Bantam Minor league last season on a Mission team that was the best in the league. He's also second in the HPHL in scoring this year in the Bantam Major division.

Pivonka is the first 2000-born recruit for Notre Dame. The Irish are following the trend of Hockey East rivals Maine, Boston University, and Boston College who have all already picked up commitments from players born in 2000.
