Big news from BuckyHockey.com's Andy Johnson Sunday morning:
Breaking news: Top prospect Brock Boeser has decommitted from the #Badgers. Will look at other NCAA options.— Andy Johnson (@AndyJohnsonB5Q) November 16, 2014
Boeser was one of the Badgers top recruits for next season. He currently leads the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL in scoring with 11-11-22 in 15 games. His 11 goals were also tied for the league lead. Boeser has been projected as a high draft pick in next summer's NHL Draft, with some projecting him as high as the late-first round. He was also recently selected to play for the US World Junior A Challenge team.
Losing Boeser is a devastating blow to the Badgers, who are having major struggles with a very young team this season. Boeser reportedly hasn't completely ruled the Badgers out; just reviewing all his potential options, but it's not a great sign for Wisconsin:
Boeser is still going to take an official visit to Wisconsin in December. Badgers are still an option. But for now he's uncommitted.— Andy Johnson (@AndyJohnsonB5Q) November 16, 2014
