Shattuck-St. Mary's '99-born defenseman Josh Maniscalco has committed to Minnesota. Maniscalco's Twitter account is protected, but his Shattuck-St. Mary's roommate tweeted out the news:
Huge shoutout to my roommate Josh Maniscalco for committing to Minnesota! #unreal #Gophs

Maniscalco is one of three '99-born players that made the Shattuck-St. Mary's Prep team(fellow Minnesota commit Scott Reedy is one of the other)--the school's top program. He's spent the early part of the season playing on the Sabres top pairing with senior Jordan Klehr. He's scored a goal and four assists through 15 games this season.
We watched Maniscalco at this year's NAHL Showcase, and he compared favorably with the best in his age group. We had him listed as a 'Definite' prospect to be selected for this spring's NTDP Evaluation Camp:
Josh Maniscalco-D-Shattuck-St. Mary's-Opened the season playing on Shattuck's top D pairing with Jordan Klehr. There's a lot to like about Maniscalco's game. He skates well, has decent size, and makes excellent decisions with the puck. He got lost in the defensive end a number of times, which is understandable this early in the season. If he cleans things up on the defensive end, he'll be a big-time prospect.
