Joe Abate Commits to Wisconsin

Chicago Mission U16 forward Joseph Abate has committed to Wisconsin, according to Bucky's Fifth Quarter hockey scribe Andy Johnson:

Abate is a '98-born forward that played for the Chicago Fury U16 team last year. This year, he moved to the powerhouse Chicago Mission program where he has played very well and drawn the interest of many NCAA programs.

We mentioned Abate earlier this fall after the NAHL Showcase as a player who had seen his stock rise early in the year:

Joe Abate-F-Chicago Mission U16-Flew under the radar playing with Chicago Fury last year, but he's earned a spot on Mission's top line this year, and scored the game-winner in their game against Honeybaked

Abate joins current teammate Dominic Mersch in committing to the Badgers. He is the sixth player off this year's Mission U16 team to make a college commitment joining Mersch, Joey Keane and Cole Coskey(Miami), Sean Dhooghe(Ohio State), and Graham Slaggert(Notre Dame).
