The Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL announced on Thursday that German-born forward Marc Michaelis has committed to Minnesota State.
Michaelis has been impressive for the Magicians since coming over from Germany this summer. He's registered a 4-4-8 scoring line through six games so far in his rookie campaign in the NAHL. We had previously mentioned Michaelis after seeing the Magicians play a preseason exhibition against the Austin Bruins:
[The Magicians'] big addition at forward over the summer was German forward Marc Michaelis, who was a top scorer in Germany's U18 league last year. He was impressive on Saturday night, scoring two goals, adding an assist, and missing out on a hat trick after a beautiful one-on-one move to beat a defenseman. He should put up big numbers this year and draw a lot of college attention.
Michaelis played for the Jungadler Mannheim program in Germany, where he was formerly a teammate of Sioux Falls(USHL) forward Parker Tuomie, who committed to Minnesota State this past summer. Both forwards are strong candidates to play for Germany's U20 team at this winter's World Junior Championships in Toronto/Montreal.
