Frederik Olofsson a '96-born forward playing for Chicago(USHL), and a 4th round draft choice of the Chicago Blackhawks in last June's NHL Draft, has committed to Nebraska-Omaha.

Olofsson is the younger brother of former Colorado College standout Gustav Olofsson. The younger Olofsson was slated to follow his brother to Colorado College, but after Gustav left the Tigers last summer to sign with the Minnesota Wild, and Colorado College head coach Scott Owens resigned, Frederik re-opened his recruitment.

Olofsson is a 6'1" 185 lbs. forward that skates well for his size. He hasn't been a huge scorer in the USHL, but his smart, two-play has made him a top prospect in the league.

Olofsson is the second player out of the USHL to commit to UNO in as many days after Cedar Rapids(USHL) '97 forward Zach Court committed to UNO yesterday.
