Notre Dame (Wis.) Academy 1997-born forward Sam McCormick has committed to Ohio State for the fall of 2015. The DePere, Wis. native is a small forward with good hockey smarts, according to Wisconsin recruiting analyst Andy Johnson. The Youngstown Phantoms drafted McCormick in the seventh round of the 2013 USHL Draft, but his rights were traded to the Sioux City Musketeers, and made that team's affiliates list. Max, his older brother, is entering his junior season at OSU, so it is unlikely the two would get a chance to play together in college.
