US National Team Development Program forward Michael Floodstrand has committed to Harvard University. The Hinsdale, Ill. native is in his first season with the program on the Under-17 Team. Floodstrand played for the Chicago Mission midget program last year. The small, speedy winger has three goals and an assist on the season. Floodstrand had a goal and two assists over five games in this summer's USA Hockey Select 16 Festival in Rochester, NY.
A '97, Floodstrand projects to arrive at Harvard in either 2015 or 2016. His USHL rights are owned by the Lincoln Stars who have Floodstrand on their affiliates list for the 2013-14 season.
