Penticton Vees goaltender Olivier Mantha has committed to Alaska-Anchorage. The La Tuque, Quebec native will be debuting in the BCHL this season after playing in Quebec previously.
Mantha is the first commitment received by the new coaching staff at UAA. Former Maine assistant and veteran ECHL head man Matt Thomas was named the new bench boss at UAA earlier this summer. Thomas retained T.J. Jindra, but hired former New Hampshire forward Josh Ciocco to be his top assistant and primary recruiter. Ciocco had been an assistant with Milton Academy, a prep school in Massachusetts, and had scouted for US Hockey Report. Ciocco is a tireless evaluator of talent who will give the Seawolves a better chance at picking up some of the better prospects, especially from the BCHL.
