Phillips Exeter post-grad forward Henry Hart has committed to play his college hockey at Yale University. The St. Thomas Academy alum is an undersized forward, but his hands and puck skill give him the ability to be an impact player at the collegiate level.
"Henry is a special player. He's one of the three or four best players I've coached here," said Exeter head coach Dana Barbin, in his 27th season at the New Hampshire prep school.
Hart has 12 goals on the season for the 7-1 Exeter squad, who also has several other players committed to Division I colleges and others who are beginning to gain interest.
"He just has poise with the puck, good vision and just something that makes him such a special player," said Barbin.
Hart, who had previously committed early-decision to Bowdoin, had yet to receive any Division I offers until this weekend when three Ivy League schools offered him after seeing him play against Kent.
Barbin is impressed with the compete level of Hart. "He's just tremendously driven. He's wanted to play hockey at an Ivy League school, but no one would pull the trigger [and make an offer until this weekend]."
