Coquitlam Express forward Corey Mackin will bring his talents to Big Rapids, Mich. to play college hockey at Ferris State. The Philadelphia, Pa. native played midget hockey last year at the Northwood Prep School in Lake Placid, NY.
Mackin is tied for third on his team in scoring with 16 goals and 18 assists. Those are very good numbers for a '95 playing his first season in the BCHL.
"Corey is a big part of our team. As a young player in our league, his creativity and ability to drive the net with the puck make him an offensive threat every time he hits the ice," said first year Express head coach Barry Wolff.
Ferris State will be getting a hard working player with drive to excel at the next level.
"He is a hard working kid on and off the ice. He is never satisfied. We are proud to have him as part of the Coquitlam Express organization," said Wolff, a coaching veteran of both the BCHL and AJHL.
