Vernon Vipers forward Liam Coughlin has committed to UMass-Amherst for the fall of 2014, according to USHR. The former Catholic Memorial star has scored two goals and two assists in 10 games played in the British Columbia Hockey League.
The South Boston, Mass. native is a prototypical power forward who scored 27 goals in 21 games last season for the Massachusetts high school hockey powerhouse of Catholic Memorial. Coughlin's older brother Kevin originally committed to UMass-Lowell before opting for major junior.
